Altyn - Emel National Park
The sights of “Altyn-Emel”, include the natural memorial “Singing Dunes”, Katutau Mountains and Aktau Mountains (White Mountains) and many other historical and archeological monuments of the VIII th-III centuries B.C. are worth seeing.
The National Park covers a total area of 460 thousand hectares, and it’s a unique place in which large mammals such as arhars, kulans, Central Asian gazelles and other rare species listed in Kazakhstan’s Red Book of endangered species.
One can find great rock or petroglyphs carvings depicting hunting scenes and the everyday lives of the people who lived thousands of years ago in this region.
